Porch lights without the BUGS!

A while back, a good friend and parts rep. was telling me that LED lights don't attract bugs! I love to leave the porch light on, but you have to do a mad dash into your trailer so the bugs don't get in.
I decided I better try her theory (even though she has never led me wrong before!). I installed two LED clearance lights on the side of the tent trailer and wired them into a switch by the door. Not only did they let off the perfect amount of light and not drain my batteries down, we did not have one bug around the lights!!
If you already have a porch light, you can change the bulb out to an LED bulb and try it for yourself.  If you want to make a little extra light, do what I did and add some LED marker lights.
Dometic sells a LED light strip that runs off of a remote control, and it makes a lot of light, even multi-colors! We have a display at Stewart's RV if you want to see them in action.
I will post pictures shortly, thanks!

Carefree Awning and Buena Vista Room!!

This addition turned out to be one of the best things we have done to this trailer! Its like doubling the width of your trailer, and is the most solid awning's I have installed on a tent trailer. The Buena Vista room was very easy to put up and you dont have to drill and screw a bunch of clips onto the side of your trailer.
I love the zip down privacy panels, the windows also zip down so you get a great breeze while the bugs stay out! ( Please excuse the mess around the trailer! We were still setting up camp...)
Stewart's RV is the place to buy them, or answer any of your questions on any of Carefree's products. Come by and talk to me anytime. You can also comment to this post if you prefer.

The Buena Vista Room is designed to fit almost any awning! Thanks, Chris

LED Lighting- try saving a little energy, and brighten up your day!

Over the past few years, LED lighting has made a great impact on the RV Industry. I dont think people yet realize how LITTLE power is used by these lights! Here is a article I wrote for our company blog rvsutah.blogspo

Save Your Battery Life!!

Parts & Service Update
Come by Stewart’s RV and see for yourself the advantages of LED lighting in your RV. We’ve made an awesome interactive display that you can play with to show you the huge difference between LED lights and conventional lights. LED lights have over 100,000 hours of bulb life!
- Did you know a traditional two-bulb ceiling light uses 10 times more power than the same size LED light?
- Save your batteries for important things like the furnace, water pump and fridge! (And don’t forget the TV!!)
LED lights emit a “white” light which is brighter than conventional lights, while using much less power. If you are considering adding more heavy batteries so you can have power through the week … think about switching to LED lights instead. A must for Dry Camping!!

THE OLDY MOLDY!!

www.canvasreplacements.comHere are some pictures of the tent panels, I lost the pictures of them on the trailer. I couldnt wait to tear them off and bleach the rest of the trailer. We bought the new tents from Canvas Replacements, they have anything and everything for tent trailers and have always taken good care of Stewart's RV.

Time for some Tunes!

I have a hard time doing anything without music. There is nothing else that can set your mood like the right song in your head!
I decided to put a waterproof unit right inside the entry door of this trailer, along with a MP3 dock. This way I can easily control it while we sit outside. With a little help from our good friends at ASA Electronics, and some new wiring of speakers and power, it turned out really nice and sounds incredible.

The great thing about this stereo system is most of it is hidden in a cabinet, so you don't have to take up so much cabinet space (and in a tent trailer, you don't have much to start with!) This system is made by Jensen and is very expandable and has plenty of power.    www.asaelectronics.com

My little old tent trailer is becoming new again!!

With the not so nice downturn in the economy, our tow vehicles have got smaller and more fuel efficient. The only problem with that is we can no longer tow very much! Never to be held back by opposition, I bought this little old tent trailer that was in desperate need of some updating.
The roof had never been sealed, and as a result the tents had got wet and moldy. The rear wall had got water in it and with a little help from the spare tire mounted on it- it pulled off of the trailer!! The rest of the trailer is in near perfect shape, so we decided to do some upgrading. These pictures were taken after we replaced all the tents.
I will start a new post for everything we do to this little trailer. Follow along, it might be fun!
